Artist Statement - Zahrina Robertson

I paint light the way some people paint portraits, because light is a presence. It’s the first thing we feel when we walk into a space, and often the thing we’re craving most when life is loud. My Signature work, Meditative Lightscapes and Ocean Lightscapes, restores, to soften the nervous system, widen the breath, and bring the steady intelligence of nature into the home.

I’m a Sydney-based artist; my creative language is shaped by horizons, oceans, salt air, wild places, and the quiet awe of our landscape. I work in layered oils and mixed media, building depth, atmosphere, and subtle texture until a painting begins to “speak.” The process is highly intuitive, a blend of meditation, play, and deep listening to what the piece wants to become.

My practice is purpose-led, turning art into action through conservation-aligned collections, partnerships, and experiences that reconnect people to nature and channel attention toward wildlife and environmental impact.
